The mumok (Museum Moderner Kunst) hosts one of the world's most significant exhibitions of Pop Art: the collection of the German industrialists Peter and Irene Ludwig. Pieces from all Ludwig museums around Europe have been gathered and are shown across the four levels of mumok. Works from all major exponents of Pop are in here: Robert Indiana,
Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg,
James Rosenquist, and Andy Warhol. Being this the largest Pop Art
collection outside the USA.
Flashing colors transform images from our daily routines into icons of our times - from the bold painted photographs of Andy to the comic-like paintings of Roy, passing by the American Nudes of Wesselmann and the bright canvases of Indiana.
