We were at Madrid visiting the exhibition 'El surrealismo y el sueño' (Surrealism and the Dream) at the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum. This thrilling exhibition pays special atention to dreams and the way surrealism deals with this unknown state of mind, which in fact represents half of our lives, an oposite world to our conscious experiences in which complete freedom allows us to be more aware of our psyque. According to surrealists, dreams are not an empty black hole in our lives but "the other pole" of psyquism.
Through paintings, sculptures, photography and films the dreamy atmosphere of surrealism is sketched in this unique monographic exhibition: Dalí, Magritte, Ernst, Carrington and many others lead our ways to the unconscious realms of Morpheus.
